Glasgow Festival biggest
ever
As
the dust settles on the Magners Glasgow International Comedy
Festival initial figures indicate that the festival was the
biggest yet.
Ticket sales have soared by more
than 20% with nearly 60,000 people attending the 280 shows on
offer. The line-up, organized by Standout Comedy, included
household names such as Jimmy Carr,
Paul Merton and
Russell Brand, as well as a
host of local stars led by Frankie Boyle.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe
deadline passes
Our sister organization the Stand Comedy Club has submitted it's
programme for the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe. The club will present a
total of 21 shows including Fringe favourites
Simon Munnery,
Andy Zaltzman and
Daniel Kitson. There's free
lunchtime entertainment and the superb value showcases -
Best of Scottish Comedy and
Best of Irish Comedy - where
you can see three or four top comics for the price of one.

History
show tours Scotland
Vladimir McTavish takes to the road next month bringing his highly
acclaimed stage show,
A Brief History of Scotland, to the country's airts and pairts.
The show is an hilarious look at the nation's past and present and
promises to entertain and inform.
Starting in Falkirk, McTavish travels the length and breadth of
Scotland before finishing in the capital on May 29th.
